Singer, songwriter, dancer, and actor Jason Derulo belongs to a new breed of multi-hyphenate artists who know no creative boundaries. And as the flagship artist for the new joint venture between Warner Bros. Records and super-producer J.R. Rotem's label Beluga Heights, Derulo has set his sights high. “I don't want to stay in a box,” he says. “I want all the love!”

He’s already feeling that love. Derulo's smash debut single "Whatcha Say" — an irresistible slice of finger-snapping, futuristic pop-R&B — quickly climbed to No. 1 on the Billboard’s Hot 100, Rhythmic, and Pop charts and remained atop the Pop chart for four consecutive weeks, making Derulo one of two new artists who debuted in 2009 to go to No. 1 at all three formats with a debut single. “Whatcha Say,” which climbed to No. 2 on the iTunes singles chart, has sold four million copies worldwide, including three million in the U.S., and has been certified double-platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. Derulo’s new single, “In My Head,” is moving even faster at radio with more than 160 Pop and Rhythm stations on board and a Top 15 berth on the Pop chart.

Those two singles are just part of what awaits on Derulo’s self-titled debut album — an uncategorizable blend of pop, rock, electronic, and R&B elements that showcases this exciting newcomer’s many talents. “It’s definitely a music lover’s album,” the 20-year-old says. “It reflects all my different influences, but it’s deeply rooted in pop. My vision for the album was to make music that would impact the world. And by that I mean that music is a healing thing. When you play your favorite song, you can forget all your troubles for three minutes. I want to provide those getaway moments for people.” To that end, Derulo recorded more than 300 songs that he narrowed down to the nine that appear on the album. “I wanted to make sure I had something special that would endure and sound timeless,” Derulo says.

Derulo wrote or co-wrote each track on the album, which was produced by Rotem, who has also worked with Rihanna, Leona Lewis, Rick Ross, and many others. “J.R. is a musician like myself, and has the ability to work within all different types of genres,” Derulo says. “We can literally do whatever we want in the studio and experiment, which is really important to me because I want to break down barriers and do things that have never done before.” The album features songwriting contributions from in-demand hit-makers Claude Kelly (Kelly Clarkson’s “My Life Would Suck Without You,” Britney Spears’ “Circus,” Miley Cyrus’ “Party in the USA”), Evan Bogart (Beyonce’s “Halo,” Rihanna’s “S.O.S.”), and Alex James (Adam Lambert’s “Sure Fire Winners,” Tata Young “My Bloody Valentine”).

That Derulo would aim high musically is not a surprise given his background. Born and bred in Miami, FL, Derulo composed his first song, a little ditty called "Crush On You," on the piano at age 8. "I was a huge Michael Jackson fan growing up,” he recalls. “I studied his videos and copied all his moves. I'd also practice singing Usher and Justin Timberlake songs while doing their moves." As a teen, Derulo moved to New York to attend the vaunted American Musical and Dramatic Academy and competed at the legendary Apollo Theater, winning the Apollo's 2006 season Grand Championship.

Derulo kept at his writing, and at age 17, he composed and sang the chorus to
"Bossy” — a track on Southern rapper Baby's album Five*Stunna. From there, the floodgates opened and Derulo became a sought-after tunesmith, showing his range and versatility by crafting songs for hip-hop star Lil Wayne, R&B singer Cassie, and girl group Danity Kane to name a few. Around this time, J.R. Rotem’s brother Tommy was searching for artists to sign to Rotem’s new label, Beluga Heights, which had scored big with Sean Kingston’s “Beautiful Girls.” Tommy contacted Derulo through his MySpace page and invited him out to Los Angeles to pen songs for Kingston’s second album.

"I was most impressed initially with Jason's writing," J.R. says of Derulo, who also co-wrote Iyaz’s five-week No. 1 “Replay.” "Although we knew he was interested in being a solo artist, we were feeling him out as a writer. But from the first night in the studio there was a magical chemistry. He was vibing off my beats and I was loving his energy and melodies. We recorded a bunch of songs and it was on."

Derulo found his musical match in Rotem. "For eight months, we literally locked ourselves in the studio to write and record,” Derulo says. "Our aim was to not be influenced by trends, but to make sure that our art was coming from a true place." He points to the song "Ridin’ Solo" as a good representation of their artistic collaboration. "The song is about the empowering, yet bittersweet realization that it's okay to be single."

"Jason is one of those guys who can write songs for other people but has a career of his own," Rotem says. "He can write pop songs for women to sing, R&B for men to sing, he can write ballads; he's very eclectic. He has really inspired us."

Derulo shows no signs of slowing down in 2010. In late January, he wrapped up a six-week stint on the road with Lady Gaga on her red-hot, sold-out “Monster Ball” tour of North America, which included four shows at New York City’s famed Radio City Music Hall. In February, he made his feature film debut in MTV Films’ Turn the Beat Around. Next up is the release of his debut album. "I don't feel like I'm competing with other artists," he says. "I'm just going to try and be the best I can be. And when I get to that level, well, I'll figure out a way to get better."

50 Cent Before i Self Destruct { Best of music songs FREE download }

In August 2007 rapper/mogul 50 Cent made a bet that would have completely changed his future in the rap game. That bold bet had many eyes around the world looking at the first day record sells of two albums: 50 Cent’s Curtis and Kanye West’s Graduation. Both albums were released on September 11, 2007 and 50 Cent swore that he would hang up his mike if Curtis didn’t outsell Graduation.

“Let’s raise the stakes,” said the native New Yorker. “If Kanye West sells more records than 50 Cent on September 11, I’ll no longer [perform] music. I’ll write music and work with my other artists, but I won’t put out any more solo albums”.

According to Nielsen Soundscan, on September 11, 2007, “Graduation” sold 437,000 copies to Curtis 310,000. During the first six days of release, Graduation moved 957,000 claiming the No.1 slot. “Curtis” captured the No.2 slot with 691,000 sold.

On September 12, 2007 50 Cent blamed his album’s 2^nd place status on Interscope Records. He appeared on the Angie Martinez show (HOT 97) saying “To be honest, the process of selling this record hasn’t been fun. I’m happy with the performance, but I’m not happy with the set up. We had conference calls and after we created this plan, nobody actually had a plan.”

Fast-forwarding two years and three months, 50 Cent couldn’t refrain from releasing his fourth solo project titled Before I Self Destruct. Before I Self Destruct was scheduled to be released in 2007, but an executive decision was made to release “Curtis” instead and release Before I Self Destruct at a later date. It makes you wonder if reneging on his infamous bet was always in the plan. The fans of 50 Cent are certainly glad that he didn’t honor that bet. Here’s a secret, 50 Cent had contractual obligations to Interscope so he couldn’t honor the bet.

Released on November 17^th, Before I Self Destruct is true 50. 50 realize that he has a formula that has been working for him consistently since his first major release in 2003 Get Rich or Die Tryin’. If you were a fan of 50 since day one, you will not be disappointed because he is giving you what he has always given you. 50 Cent is certainly true to his art. Before I Self Destruct has the hardcore beats that knock with a few commercial hits sprinkled among them.

The album opens up with “The Invitation” produced by DJ Premier and it brings hardness that sets the mood of the album. An ear catcher is “So Disrespectful” and the title says it all; along with several lyrical shots to The Game.

The CD features Eminem, Ne-Yo, and R. Kelly. Eminem blesses the listener with great lyrics and a tight flow on “Psycho.” Ne-Yo is featured on the first single and the most commercial song of the CD, “Baby By Me.” R. Kelly can make any track better with him just being on it, so “Could’ve Been You” is a chill, sexy vibe that is a perfect mesh of 50 and Kelly.

“Do You Think About Me” and “Get It Hot” are two tracks that have potential of being released singles. Both songs have a radio friendly and commercial appeal like “Baby By Me.” “Do You Think About Me” is the grown and sexy song of the album; the track is mellow, smooth, with a nice knock to make you nod your head. “Get It Hot” would fall into the club banger category.

In the end, the overall vibe of “Before I Self Destruct” is dark and aggressive. While this album seems to cover all bases, there are still a few loopholes that could lead to its downfall. We will leave it to the 50 Cent fans to determine if Before I Self Destruct will be worth their money or a fireworks show signaling the end of a good run.

Can rapper Jay-Z's latest album titled "Blueprint 3" live up to the hype? Yes, I am a big fan of Jay-Z, but in this article I am going to give a honest review of "Blueprint 3".
The album consist of 15 tracks with production by top producers such as Kanye West, Swizz Beatz Timbaland and Pharrell. Here is a quick break down of the album.
"What We Talkin About" starts off the album and is an intro song that gives you that feeling that you are about to hear something great. It is a decent track but it could have been a little more hard hitting. What I mean is, it could have been a little more aggressive and up beat, but Jay is known for doing intro tracks like this so I can't really complain.
The second song on the album titled "Thank You", Jay thanks his fans and his foes in a very fluid flow that rides the horn filled beat effortlessly. This song is good mainly because of the rhyming.
Track 4 "Run This Town" is easily one of the best songs on this album in my opinion. Kanye West and Rihanna really makes this song a winner. I love the beat and really the whole concept of the song.
Even though the track that Swizz Beatz produced is his typical "Swizz beat" I really like It's up temple vibe. I would say this is the most energetic song on the whole album.
Track 8 "Off That" is a track produced by Timbaland featuring new comer Drake.The song is ok, but I feel that Drake should've actually rapped a verse instead of just doing the chorus.
In "Venus vs. Mars" Jay really gets creative with the metaphors as he raps over just an ok beat. Overall not to special.
The last song on the album is a good one titled "Forever Young". It is very similar to the last track on Jay's last album "Kingdom Come". The combination of a really nice beat an a heart felt flow, this is a definite winner.
In closing
I honestly was expecting a little more from "Blueprint 3", but it is a good album overall. I give it a 3 out of 5 stars. I'm tough on Jay because he has set such a high standard in his past works.

Give Lil Wayne some credit. He treats his ability to rap as a craft on par with any other skill or trade. Practice makes perfect. Since striking out on his own as a solo artist some years ago, Wayne has probably recorded more songs and verses than many will in their entire career. The practice worked. The man has made his millions through almost complete saturation of the hip-hop radio and blog circuit. Scarcely a week goes by without a new track, feature or news of one. Despite previous attempts from Lewis’s lawyers to ban the release of Best Kept Secret by UEG Music, claiming that the singer had not given her consent, the album was released in January 2009 when the label insisted it owned the rights to the music and Lewis would receive a 50% share of the album’s profits. However, a television advert for the album was banned by the Advertising Standards Authority, who said in a statement: “We considered that the claim ‘Leona Lewis’s new album’ misleadingly implied it was the singer’s latest recording rather than a new CD of tracks recorded some years ago.” The album was released to iTunes in standard and deluxe editions, and two EPs, “Private Party” and “Dip Down”/”Joy”, were released in September 2009.

Tim Mosley's megalomania is totally justified. He's among the most consistently inventive producers of the past decade, and his profile has risen immeasurably thanks to recent hits on which he's both dial-twister and co-star. However, Shock Value proves he's a better supporting player than a main attraction -- and his attempts to stretch into new stylistic areas stretch credibility instead.

Granted, there are plenty of masterful arrangements here: Take the martial chorale heard throughout the 50 Cent-Tony Yayo number "Come and Get Me." But Timbaland's tiresomely monotonal flow clogs up regularly, and his over-reliance on the same heavy synth tones he used on smashes by Nelly Furtado and Justin Timberlake doesn't make new collabs such as "Give It to Me" seem poppin' fresh. Probably the most massively overhyped release by any DJ in 2009 was the debut album by N.A.S.A, The Spirit of Apollo, which turned out to be a ridiculously unpleasant mess of sonic overreaching, due substantially to the massive number of collaborations stuffed into the album. The number of collaborations on Dutch DJ Tiësto's Kaleidoscope is certainly enough to get your attention, but doesn't really come close to the calamity that N.A.S.A. dove into. For one thing, Tiësto obviously has enough good sense to restrict disparate collaborators to individual tracks, instead of forcing them together like some unholy peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
